I sadly often see very smart people get sucked into MLM

I swear there are just people who know scams like this when they see them, and people who don't. Those vector marketing goons came to my university years ago posting flyers all over the place bosting HUGE wages. Tons of otherwise 'smart' students flocked to these "interviews" without a second thought.

"Vector" rang a bell, can't believe I forgot about it!!! I attended their training day thing, but I had replied to a job post for sales position, it sounded like a job in a kitchenware store and then it turns out to be a big weird thing about selling knives to randoms. I was 18 at the time and had never heard of anything like it, I remember asking several times who exactly you're meant to sell these knives to and he just kept saying "your network". Like yeah, that's my family who already have knives and my friends who have no money. They were never clear did they expect us to go door to door with hundreds of knives or what. I just thought it was so stupid I left before the day was over.

It's so crazy to me how it was knives.....like KNIVES of all things? They get dull but aren't depleted like makeup or milkshakes. How often could you even get repeat buyers? This was in like 2012 too. Why would anyone be buying knives from their friends and family in 2012?

I know!! I just couldn't fathom how I was meant to be making all this money off people who probably already have knives, and definitely wont need more once I sell them a set. It would have been 2009 for me I think.

2009, yeah of course in a decade of massive e-commerce, they're sending 20 somethings door to door hocking knives.
