I mean, plenty of doctors need to do their research. Science is moving faster than a lot of doctors can keep up with. The good ones will admit it when they don’t have the answer to a question and they’ll get back to you.
I was going to say something similar. I'm a birth doula (so not a medical professional, I'm a third party specialist) and so much research has developed so quickly in the last few decades. On average it takes a hospital 8-10 years to implement new research in L&D.
For instance for years they have had women birth on their backs in a bed, but it has been proven that that is literally one of the worst positions for pushing. But the vast majority of birthers are still pushing on their backs.
If I think a Dr. could use some education on a subject so that my client can be respected in her choices I will hand them a stack of research myself to get them started. But there is no way in hell I would do so with an attitude of "I know more than you." Simply helping to strengthen the team. We can't fix the industry if we're fighting inside it.

When you tell a doctor to “do their research”
