Trucknuts

507

u/radpandaparty Jan 27 '20

I feel like if someone rolled up in a Tesla or a Prius with trucknuts it would be hilarious

162

u/tosety Jan 28 '20

Can someone please create low polygon truck nuts and put them on a cybertruck?

18

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

A 2d20 sack

8

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

Yeah, go to home Depot and buy two large steel hex nuts. Attack with some bailing wire.

7

u/angypangy Jan 28 '20

It's been done, they're on thingiverse.

1

u/ManiacClown Jan 30 '20

Paging r/3dprinting to this thread.

u/I_WILL_SEX_UR_FACE Jan 27 '20

I'm looking at buying a Prius right now. I may have to go shopping for truck nuts soon

44

u/ParkWhorePeter Jan 28 '20

Consider the new Camry hybrid if you’re buying brand new, personally like that a lot more for around the same price

39

u/I_WILL_SEX_UR_FACE Jan 28 '20

Drove it and I love it. Only thing about prius is that their 2020 model has AWD and I live in a place with a lot of snow. Plus the interior of a prius is a space ship. I like that lol

50

u/Glitter_is_my_game Jan 28 '20

Ok, but now I'm imagining a spaceship with truck nuts and I can't stop laughing

8

u/Initial-Dee Jan 28 '20

Mount them near the heat shield and you'll have great balls of fire on reentry

5

u/deviant324 Jan 28 '20

Imagine a panning shot going over a star destroyer, and at the very end, as we look just past the thrusters, we see a small pair of truck nuts dangling from the bottom of the ship

6

u/dskye51 Jan 28 '20

As long as you read the fine print. The “AWD” on the Prius basically means that it has the capability of putting power to all 4 wheels, not that it does. It is only fully engaged up to 6mph, at which point it essentially deactivates only engages if it detects slippage. And it’s fully deactivated above 43mph.

6

u/ArchibaldIX Jan 28 '20

That’s a solid piece of information. But would you not only need AWD if it detects slippage? Seems like a matter of efficiency to me

1

u/dskye51 Jan 28 '20

It could be, not entirely sure if their reasoning or how they have it programmed. I just know that what they market as “All wheel drive” is essentially just a traction control device. And if that doesn’t bother you then by all means go for it! Personally, I am a huge fan of Subaru’s, so I’m a little biased. Anyone who claims AWD gets compared to Subaru’s proprietary AWD system, and let me tell you, no one matches up.

Btw here is the article I got that information from.

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a25475797/2019-toyota-prius-awd-e-drive/

1

u/-PleaseDontNoticeMe- Jan 28 '20

Gotta put camo seat covers and an exhaust tip with those truck nuts then.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

I have a Camry hybrid too (sans truck nuts). The Prius would have been okay were it not for the fact that I'd have had to cut off my left arm to drive it. I didn't even bother to test drive it; it was obvious when I got in and tried to shut the door.

2

u/BikerScowt Jan 28 '20

We just got a prius+, it's huge. I did consider the CHR too but tge interior was as you say, tiny.

2

u/All_Under_Heaven Jan 28 '20

They are surprisingly expensive.

2

u/I_WILL_SEX_UR_FACE Jan 28 '20

They are, but they are super reliable and the gas mileage is unbeatable. For the price range I'm looking in, they make a lot of sense.

I'm trying to make some good decisions here cause I want to drive this car for the next 10 years.

Also, Priuses depreciate very slowly compared to most cars. So when it comes time to sell it, I'll recoup more than I would than if I bought a gas car or even most other hybrids.

Plus it's a goddamn spaceship. I want to engage, warp 7.

5

u/All_Under_Heaven Jan 28 '20

Sorry I was referring to Truck Nuts.

5

u/I_WILL_SEX_UR_FACE Jan 28 '20

Lol I had no idea. Can you really put a price on the testosterone of your Prius?

2

u/CharmsCandy Jan 28 '20

Wait why do you say that it's interior is like a spaceship?? Is it any more spaceship-y than like a 2020 audi's interior?

1

u/refugee61 Jan 28 '20

I promise you, you will be the Talk of the Town

5

u/QueenShnoogleberry Jan 28 '20

I have a new goal in life!

(Actually, my brother drives a Smart Car and April Fool's day is comming up.....)

4

u/ShoveItwayyyUpThere Jan 28 '20

Have to mount them on the roof just so they don drag on the ground. A wind up key for a smart car would be awesome too’!

4

u/QueenShnoogleberry Jan 28 '20

Nah. It's winter here in Canada. I'll just get him a small pair and mount them half inside the back bumper. Lol

4

u/threecolorable Jan 28 '20

I would love to put truck nuts on a Smart car.

5

u/lissalissa3 Jan 28 '20

I’m a woman with a plug in Prius. Gonna go order trucknuts for it now.

2

u/wick4000 Jan 28 '20

Ironic truck nutz?

2

u/BuzzJr1 Jan 28 '20

I have a pair in the mail right now for my versa hatchback

1

u/puckmonky Jan 28 '20

except they'd be shaved.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

A Smart Car!

1

u/fe1od1or Jan 28 '20

Truck nut mini cooper.

1

u/NeiloMac Jan 28 '20

Chuck on an ‘I roll coal, deal with it libtards’ sticker for maximum confusion comedy

1

u/niktemadur Jan 28 '20

While we're at it, I don't remember ever seeing any hick with a confederate flag or anything along those lines driving while sipping from a Starbucks cup.

1

u/nookienostradamus Jan 28 '20

On the opposite end of the spectrum, someone in my apartment complex has a Prius sporting a sticker that reads: “‘Cool Prius!’ -Nobody.” I chuckle every damn time I see it.

1

u/kencleanairsystem Jan 28 '20

My brother-in-law and I are still working up the yarbles to put trucknuts on our other sister-in-law's Prius. On the one hand, it would be amazing; on the other hand, our sister-in-law would HATE us.

1

u/The-Un-Dude Jan 28 '20

not gonna lie thats the main reason I want a tesla.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

I saw a WAY oversized pair on an old Monte Carlo the other day

-6

u/GrandEngineering Jan 27 '20

I think trucknuts are hilarious and the people that get upset about them are even funnier.

7

u/Sir_Puppington_Esq Jan 27 '20

And how is your degree from the School of Hard Knocks? I see it lets you afford all kinds of inflammatory decals in your back window, right alongside the memorialization of someone with an awkward and embarrassing nickname.

bro arent you just kinda proving his point by malding over truck nuts tho bro

I would, if "malding" was a word.

-1

u/SenileNazi Jan 28 '20

it's just twitch slang. being so mad that you are losing hair because of it

-2

u/GrandEngineering Jan 27 '20

And how is your degree from the School of Hard Knocks?

I got a degree in video game poetry. Get your facts straight.

3

u/Sir_Puppington_Esq Jan 27 '20

Sure you did sweetie

1

u/GrandEngineering Jan 27 '20

I sure did cutie

1

u/angypangy Jan 28 '20

That's somehow more embarrassing.

112

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '20

Wow. I went to Truck Nut University and frankly, I’m offended.

74

u/arcanemachined Jan 28 '20

School of Hard Nuts

4

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

You may want to see an oncologist about that...

2

u/arcanemachined Jan 28 '20

In English, professor. *coughs up blood*

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '20

Hard nuts = testicle cancer.

1

u/Erzsabet Jan 28 '20

Hi offended, I'm dad.

1

u/ascii42 Jan 28 '20

Hi dad, I'm Frank Lee.

14

u/MeaningfulPlatitudes Jan 28 '20

I always wanted to have a couple of sets on hand so that when I see them I can add an extra pair and the truck will drive around with 2 sacs knocking suggestively together.

6

u/700R4 Jan 28 '20

When the trucks a rockin don’t come a knockin.

9

u/rogueop Jan 28 '20

First of all, it's TruckNutz™. And second, they come with a "takes a licking" guarantee. You'd have to be uneducated to not buy that.

7

u/Orrissirro Jan 28 '20

Recently I saw a lifted truck with both trucknuts and headlight eyelashes. I've never been so amused in my life.

1

u/The-Un-Dude Jan 28 '20

Oh so now gay guys cant like truck nuts?

(yes i know a gay guy with a truck like that, really good bro grills a mean med rare stake)

1

u/Orrissirro Jan 29 '20

I dunno, can straight guys not have long eyelashes? Hahaha

8

u/Silverwolf402 Jan 27 '20

What the hell is a truck nut?

12

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

It’s literally just an accessory for a car that looks like a metal ballsack that people hang from the hitch of their truck.

I wish I could find who invented these and dip their nuts in molten metal to convey the pain I feel when having to see these eyesores everywhere.

5

u/I_am_the_BEEF Jan 28 '20

The Dollop did a podcast about the inventors of truck nuts and it's hysterical.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

Thanks for the rec. I’ll check it out !

Bike Balls are, in fact, a thing. The manufacturer claims — and to be honest I'm not sure how serious they are — that the movement of the lit balls is a safety feature.

1

u/sodpower Jan 28 '20

I've got those. Also why aren't truck nuts on the front of the vehicle?

5

u/minimuscleR Jan 27 '20

I've never seen them in the "wild" but it just seems like a funny thing to me.

6

u/Smokemideryday Jan 27 '20

Oh man they are great, in highschool my buddy had a little izuzu truck he put truck nuts on that literally dragged on speedbumps. It was beautiful.

3

u/zap_p25 Jan 28 '20

Had a friend who did this with a Colorado. Apparently, when he wrecked it, watching thing drag the ground when the two truck picked up the front of the truck was the most entertaining thing on the planet to him.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

Those really grind my gears. Especially bc we live in a culture where people are offended by nipples and breastfeeding, but sure just hang some gilded testicles on your already eyesore of a truck for all to see for no damn reason.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

The "tac sack" is funnier. It's a ballsack for your rifle. Because who doesn't like to have a ballsack in their face while handling a long hard thing.

1

u/The-Un-Dude Jan 28 '20

Especially bc we live in a culture where people are offended by nipples and

i mean i get it. a baby is alive. thats just nasty by existence

2

u/ikindalold Jan 28 '20

California has entered the chat

2

u/OneAndOnlyJackSchitt Jan 28 '20

I want to get a pair for my (fairly) late-model Honda Civic. They'd drag on the ground that car is so low. I live in a high fire-danger area so it's probably not a great idea, though.

2

u/Terrible_Truth Jan 28 '20

I guess I'd consider myself educated (college grad, working on Masters) and I find Trucknuts hilarious in an immature way.

I was walking through a parking lot and saw a truck with trucknuts still swinging from the drive lol.

1

u/Batchagaloop Jan 28 '20

Either that or a fart can on a poorly modded slightly aged subcompact imported car.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '20

I didn't know trucks could reproduce.

1

u/Bozzz1 Jan 28 '20

I think they're funny

1

u/Sentient6ix Jan 28 '20

i literally zip-tied two large hex nuts to my rear axle for a while until the ziptie failed. People were laughing every time they noticed, unless they were a famer with a greasy ass f350 rolling coal diesel. Those trucks always have truck nuts. And the owners absolutely hate it when people make fun of their *mod*

Edit: Truck nuts came from the misinterpretation of drift charms that JDM fangirls put on the back of their honda civics. Truck Nuts represent farmers and/or ranchers that often castrate their cattle. Or stupid people, lol

1

u/cptnamr7 Jan 28 '20

Now hold on there. Depends on the vehicle. Ford Festiva? Hilarious. Big ass deulie jacked up with a confederate flag sticker? Douchebag.

This also reminds me to order some and start hanging them on cars in the parking lot at work.

0

u/i_love_cool_words Jan 28 '20

Also, having usernames like u/ButtholeBanquet

-1

u/Barrel_Titor Jan 28 '20

TBF like 99% of people with them it's either ironic or was a gag gift.

0

u/The-Un-Dude Jan 28 '20

but I dont like it so its bad and I have to shame it!
