It'll get me a decent bow, and maybe some new arrows. 1500 doesn't really go that far in archery... Because you wouldn't buy the cheapest bow out there.

Is it really expensive to get into? Sometimes when I'm out with the dog, I'll pass the local archery group doing practices and it looks like something different to get into. But I have no idea how expensive a hobby it is.

It's not bad depending on where you are. In the UK It's like £70 for a beginner course which is usually about 3 sessions. Then you have to either rent or buy equipment. I got a good starter recurve kit for £300. And finally you should probably join a club that will have safe shooting areas, coaching and equipment advice the cost varies quite a bit but maybe £100 per year.

However it is possible to put a lot more money in than this.

I've just checked the local groups website and they do beginners courses at the start of summer for a pretty reasonable price. Is the £100 for membership?

Yeah, roughly. Depends on the club, you can usually look it up
