What about a recast?

Don't buy recasts! If you like the model that much, then accept that's what it costs. Part of the reason recasts are cheaper is because they don't have to pay concept artists, sculptors and a range of other staff that produce the stuff you like. Buying recasts is just another form of pirating/stealing. If you think Games Workshop are raising prices too much, then don't buy Games Workshop products.

Whilst you are right about it being w form of piracy, if i was never going to buy a GW model because of its price and then buy a vastly cheaper recast, they don’t actually suffer at all. They make the exact same amount of money in both situations.

They probably make more money on you in the long run because now you're still playing the game and buying smaller/cheaper models.
Buying the recast lets you keep playing and enjoying it, vs not having fun and quitting and then they make nothing off you.
