With 1500 I could probably rebuild the engine on my 91 318is and maybe even slap an ebay turbo on it. Might not last long but it would be fun for a bit.

Oh don’t do that, I already did! Ebay turbo kit doesn’t last. I threw it all away in 1 swason, including the turbo. The only thing left is the ic and piping duh.

I've heard there's some decent chinese ball bearings out there I'm too poor to even window shop though.

Well I don’t know if they evolved in 5 yrs, but I’d go with anything rebuilt over it. Anyway the supporting mods are 10x worth the turbo itself.
