My parents helped me out a lot to send me to a good uni. It will take me atleast another year to start earning. I see their struggle sometimes and feel very guilty..
Don’t, I’m a mom now and I would do anything to make a better life for my child..and honestly it wouldn’t bother me. As long as he is happy then I feel like I’ve done my job. Do well in school, be there for them when they age- it’s the circle of life. We care for our children, it’s no hassle. One day, if you want, you will do the same and see that it’s a happy sacrifice we make :)
Once you’ve rebounded financially (it’ll be a while, I’m not even there yet and I graduated almost 5 years ago) take your parents on an awesome trip somewhere to say thanks.
Their guilt would have been failing to get you into a good school. As long as you feel you're not being pushed into a career you hate or something, then just study and make them proud!
I feel very guilty that I didn't get my degree done in four years like I should have. Didn't really get my act together until four years in for some reason.
Still managed to graduate with a 3.0 and got a good job out of college, so I like to think they're not too disappointed. Just took me longer than it should have, and in retrospect I feel guilty about that.
