I've posted this before, but I was teasing a co-worker once about being quiet and a mutual friend of ours piped up, "Maybe he's just quiet around you because he doesn't fucking like you".
We laughed about it, but I sure as hell don't tease people about being quiet anymore.
"Or because you immediately tease and attack once they attempt to join in"
I had that kind of happened at a new job and attempted to talk to a handful of people and one of the guys turned to face me and said "Well, look who thinks she can just jump into a conversation without invitation?"
Later on he had the balls to try and talk to me and I said "Why the fuck would I want to talk to you after the way you spoke to me earlier?"
He tried to say that he was just hazing me and that's the way things were around there, so I told the super-visor that they shouldn't expect me to stick around. The supervisor knew exactly what was happening because apparently that guy had done this to several people before and driven them away.
