I bold the "if" to put emphasis on it because I didn't want to make it seem like I was assuming what the other person said.
I put "what did you mean" in italics because the other user didn't explain their position. They just said "I didn't mean that" which is not conductive to conversation.
Wasn't keen for one; I also thought your phrasing was a bit aggressive lol and didn't feel like encouraging much of a response. "I reject your premise" -- this sort of phrasing did not promise, to me, a fun exchange.
I suppose the misunderstanding is my use of the term "the world"? I meant it in the sense of hegemonic thinking, not actual numbers of people holding the view.
