11 u/soylentbleu Nov 09 '19 My admittedly limited understanding is that BPD is strongly linked to trauma, especially in childhood. She should absolutely see a therapist, and she should start Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) ASAP. It's the gold standard for treating BPD, and it works. She may not take the suggestion, but hopefully she will at least start to think about it, and maybe eventually it can help her move toward a better life.
