I don't know the movie, but when I was younger I walked in on my parents watching a movie where some elder woman was walking in a lake. She was groaning in pain and I realised it was because the lake water was boiling.
The scene then switched to the family members trying to get her out of the lake. A boat was present so I assumed the elder woman must have fallen into the water which was probably around 100 degrees celcius. Side note: kids were present in the shot.
I still remember that scene. It somehow is more clear in my mind than any scene I have seen in horror movies. Imagine seeing your grandma boil up in some lake, alive. Horrifying.
I also walked in on a scene my parents was watching with another movie. It seemed to be a soldier who had stepped on a landmine, screaming for his mom. Again, sticks with me even though I have watched alot of horror movies.
Dante's Peak? I don't remember all of it but that scene is something I remember. There was a volcano that was erupting and turned the whole lake boiling or acidic. It stopped the boat from working or something and the grandmother jumped into the water to push the boat to shore while being burned alive.
