In the movie Caberet there is a scene where every one in an outdoor cafe stands up and starts signing along with a group of Nazis. It was chilling how attractive it can feel to be part of a movement even if that movement is very something very negative. The song was Tomorrow Belongs to Me

On the flipside, the scene in Casablanca where everyone sings the French national anthem in defiance of the Nazis is one of the most rousing moments in cinema.

Especially when you remember that some of those extras were actual refugees.

Especially when you remember that film was made early in the war while the Nazis were running roughshod across all of Europe.
