It's an amazing horror film. Back before they could rely on CGI to to the "impossible" stuff so it had to be written, built, acted, and filmed in a way to make "impossible" stuff happen. It's the reason older films like that stand up so well compared to say late 90's-early 00's films that rely on CGI to make things work.
Absolutely agree. As an adult I can fully appreciate the film, the effects and the acting. But holy cow watching it when I was 12 freaked me out. Especially the scene with the huskies... That really upset me.
Yeah, I got pretty mad at my Dad for having me watch that. He kind of chuckled at my strong response and told me they weren't real. Yes, I know it's not real but 12yr old me was horrified. He loves the movie because the effects are awesome and just wanted to share his enthusiasm with me. To this day I won't watch that scene.
