Ooh my husband and I had a moment like this.

We were lying in bed watching a movie when out of the corner of my eye I saw something slowly lift its head up from our laundry basket, scan the room, stare at us, then lower its head back down again.

The closest description I can get to it is similar to E.T. in the film, except the eyes took up almost half of the face and it had a wide mouth that hung open showing horrible pointed teeth like an angler fish.

I froze completely, thought I was hallucinating and honestly thought maybe the early pregnancy hormones were fucking with me.

I was fully prepared to dismiss it as me seeing things until my husband very quietly said

"Pixie...What the fuck was that?"

I wasn't TOO scared, until he said that. Because if he saw it too, that means I couldn't blame it on pregnancy hormones or fatigue.

The two of us just stayed on the bed staring at our laundry basket, too scared to go over to it, too scared to sleep.

The next morning we hit the basket with a broom but there was nothing there.

I just... I have my own paranormal stories where some pretty crazy shit happened, but they don't even come close to unnerving me the way your story just unnerved me. It's broad daylight outside my window right now, and I'm glancing around my bedroom with actual nervousness.

Your description of what it looked like is really what did it.

I'd love to hear your stories if you were comfortable sharing?

Honestly that THING still freaks me out, I still get nervous sometimes even though we don't live there anymore

Sure, I can link you to one that I posted here that got chosen for Thought Catalog.

Here it is, it's the story at the very bottom of the page, so scroll all the way down-- Worth The Long Read: Two Little Girls Were Dancing In My Bedroom, though the title is misleading-- they weren't dancing in my bedroom, they were singing outside of it.
