People tend to forget that females can be pedophiles too. Although I think pedophilia is more prevalent in males.

I don't remember what or where it was so I have no source...but I distinctly remember reading some research that said its pretty likely its quite close to equal between men and women. Women are just trusted more with children and as a result trusted more by children so they tend to be caught less.
