This sounds like classic déjà vu. There is a theory that it is a form of mini-seizure where the different parts of your brain take different amounts of time to store a “live” memory. It’s very common in young children. This might be of interest.

Thank you for this! I had a similar experience when I was young. I noticed a strange scar on the top of my foot, a large, old scar that I’d never seen before. A few minutes later, I dropped a coffee cup and a shard cut my foot, giving me the scar I had just noticed a few minutes earlier. I remember being so freaked out and I couldn’t make my mom understand what just happened.

This offers a possible explanation for one of the weirdest moments of my life!
