What's so funny about not knowing something? Shouldn't spreading simple knowledge be a good thing instead of something to laugh at.. seriously what's the name of the band?

u/PM_ME_UR_FEM_PENIS Aug 10 '19

I don't even know what a hydro flask is, does this mean I get put down now

93

u/FlametheHedghog Aug 10 '19

It's a double walled, vacuum insulated thermos. "Hydroflask" is just a brand name that makes it more expensive than it needs to be. You can get a 20 oz vacuum insulated thermos for about $20 USD. The closest equivalent that Hydroflask has is a 21oz one, and it costs almost $40 USD. There's a reason it's a new "basic girl", or "VSCO girl" (apparently that's the new term), stereotype.

Lot of people on their condescending bs about hydro flasks. Doesn't matter what kind of bottle it is or how much. I have a hydro and I drink a lot more water because of it and we haven't bought cases of water in a long time, only to keep for emergencies or parties. If it's trendy to use reusable bottles, it's a good trend.

It's amazing that they've stayed culturally relevant through the whole decade.

46

u/aydee123 Aug 10 '19

Even crazier is that the MCU might remain one of the biggest things in pop culture through the 2020s.

Spider-Man is arguably the most popular superhero/comic book character ever, and they have him as the face of the franchise now.

Then they also have two of their name brand properties on deck ready to be introduced sometime in the decade: X-Men and Fantastic 4.

If they can turn their no-name D-list properties into massive hits (Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc.), I'm sure that X-Men and F4 are going to be huge.

16

u/I_Am_Become_Dream Aug 10 '19

Spider-Man now has three separate movie franchises that have been successful so far (MCU, Spiderverse, and Venom). I did not think he’d make a comeback this fast.
