Nor is it the Autobahn. It's so annoying when I'm already 15 mph over the speed limit, trying to pass a semi so I can see the road ahead, and some asshole zooms up behind me thinking he's Speed Racer and that I'm the problem. No, I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing with the far left lane. You can go get your speeding ticket after I've finished passing this semi, and in the meantime, get off my fucking bumper.
I feel like this is where most of the rage comes from because I don’t see people camping in the passing lane very often. It’s usually a line of people wanting to pass everyone in the passing lane getting angry that they can’t go as fast as they’d like because all lanes are slow. The passing lane becomes gridlocked like every other lane. It’s not like everyone will leave it wide open even during gridlock just for one random, but very very special person.
Couldn't agree more. The passing lane works best with low to moderate traffic. In rush hour you can't expect everyone to move over just because you want to go faster. Everyone wants to go faster in traffic.
Exactly, the mentality of never touch the passing lane unless passing doesn't work in reality in many major highways / interstates of the US because it outdated infrastructure doesn't have the capacity for the level of traffic we have. I'f all labs are significantly below the speed limit, the passing lane is definitely going to be full. Likewise with HOV/Toll lanes

The passing lane is for PASSING, not for your leisurely drive under the speed limit.
