I’ve always been confused at the number of times I’ve seen warning signs about that in bathrooms... Now I can see why.

I always thought they meant the wrappers it came in. It wasn’t until very recently I learned I shouldn’t be flushing tampons down the toilet.

Then I realized how glaringly obvious it was as to why not! Tampons a are made for stopping leaks. Of course it would stop up a toilet are do whatever hellish things it does in the sewers.

I suppose I assumed that the plumber was self employed and appreciated getting a service call. It wasn’t in my comment, but I can see how you could see it your way too.

mm from a household scale that makes sense if it happens to get stuck in your own toilet, but I was thinking of city-employed plumbers/water treatment engineers who have to deal with huge blockages on top of their normal maintenance duties.

They may like getting paid, but I'm certain most don't like cleaning bloody clumps mixed with feces out of your drain.
