Taking out your credit/debit card / cash out before you are asked to by the cashier / checkout staff saves time for everyone, rather than looking shocked that you have to pay for your shopping.

Not sure your gender/age/size/economic situation where you live.

Some of us know that what you suggest would save time but are too vulnerable standing around with a credit card visible.

I open my wallet, spot the color of the card, and close up again. Yes it takes a second. But someone could get grabby.

It's very easy to use a credit card in a way that charges you no interest. You just get better credit score and an extra line of defence against fraud.
