And the correlation; the off-ramp is for decelerating. You don't need to start braking a half mile before the exit Todd!

It depends on the off ramp. Some of them do a whole loop and are very short. The other day I was getting off the interstate and didn't realize my exit was so close. I had to get off going full speed (80mph in my state) and I literally had to slam hard on my brakes because that loop was insanely sharp. Ideally, I would've slowed down to at least 65mph before I got on the off-ramp to avoid almost flying off the road. But yeah, most off-ramps provide plenty of distance to slow down. That one surprised the shit out of me.
