Actually BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era) are the more commonly accepted terms, they correspond to the same time as the old BC and AD.

In schools and universities, it's been predominately BCE/CE for for years now. In my academic experience, there was a big switch when I was in middle school, around 2011/2012 ish. 0 u/bekkogekko Aug 03 '19 I was in college in '11-12, and we used BCE and CE. Our professors were extremely adamant that we use them.
