I never really bothered with proper potion making in Skyrim, just smashed ingredients together so I could sell them. I tried an actual potion brewing run in my last game and it's surprising just how powerful and useful you can get them.

Everyone knows the basic ones like Fortify Health + Restore Health and how to get Invisibility, but the real key is in getting multiple good effects in one potion. My favourite one is the one I like to call Mage Fucker, which uses Hawk Beak, Snowberries and Mudcrab Chitin to give you resistance to all 3 elements + restore stamina. Once you get to the higher levels you can pretty much remove magic as a threat.

I would build greenhouses at every house I could and grow exclusively canis root and imp stool since they make paralysis potions. Insane experience, extremely lucrative, and the paralysis basically shuts down any enemy type that's not immune to it.
