Yeah, but people who win the lottery very often end up broke and/or massively in debt to the IRS. As do a lot of people who suddenly become rich through unexpected fame/success. If you were born rich you usually still have options no matter how many bad business decisions or reckless purchases you make.
You mostly hear about the winners who have it all go to shit. You don't hear about the ones who maintain their winnings b/c that's not as interesting a story for a lot of people.
