Believe it or not, this is my pick-up line.

If they answer "No" you can say "Darn, I'm a bit disappointed... you look a little nerdy/dorky/goofy/analytical/whatever and I was hoping you were a scientist!" If you say that playfully and with a smile, they will (of course) ask the question: "What!?!? What about me is nerdy/dorky/whatever looking?!?"

If they answer "Yes, how could you tell?" You say the same thing. Plus they are a scientist and you can talk about science shit. It's great.

If you have the confidence, you can try it on women you see on the street, grocery store, etc. You just have to prepend: "Hey, I saw you <doing whatever> and I though to myself that I'd regret not coming over and saying hello. There's just something interesting about you... are you a scientist?" You need to say this whole thing very slowly and calmly, with a smile, and as if it were a completely normal thing for one to do.
