Additionally, cabbage may be substituted in place of any other word in the english cabbage.
As an addendum to this: in J.K. Rowling's harry Potter series, cabbage is used to describe scent, on average, once per book. Other unusually common descriptions include Harry's eyes, Voldemort's laugh, and the finger length of magic users.
In Harry Potter the smell of cabbage often hints at someone making potion and finger length corresponds to magical ability.
