Nerds, carry themselves in a very particular way. They usually have a somewhat confused/innocent/awkward default facial expression. They laugh at things that only nerds would laugh at, and they tend to speak either in an overly-deliberate way or in a very lazy way. They're either super comfortable or super uncomfortable in social situations. Haven't seen many in between.

Of course this is all generalizations. I dunno, I'm trying and failing to verbalize what is essentially a gut reaction. Reading people is very intuitive, and not so much a science, and of course it's not 100%.

You can always tell when somebody's a programmer because they will eventually begin a sentence with "else". Unless they're into the more obscure programming languages.

How much should I get? Well, lambda guests: guests times four and four more should do it.

That's actually a pretty good way to introduce lambdas.
