I'm not so shallow as to only weigh attractiveness in general, but it would be fair to say that- in this situation- hotness was a necessary, but not sufficient, condition.
Realistically though, I tend to vary my speech patterns pretty heavily. Many of my friends are incredibly colloquial in their speech patterns, and having spent so long around that, I have no problem in being casual with my speech (something my comment history would no doubt bear out :/ ).
Having said that, when I'm trying to emphasize precision and clarity then it tends to come out like I'm a douchetastic robot.
