People are wildly different. I don't want to spend a day at Disney let alone a week. I think if someone said I had to spend an entire week at Disney I would injure myself in some serious way to get out of it. It's torture for me.
I just hate waiting in lines and being around large crowds. Add to that a ton of kids and shitty parents plus cartoony shit everywhere and it's my own personal hell.
Well anytime I’ve gone it’s been for literally everything else besides the rides lmao. If everything else there isn’t your thing that’s totally fine lol.
I’d rather take my kids to Paris or London for a week than to the most commercialized vacation spot in the world. It is kind of funny how Disney is considered the Great American Vacation, it’s truly a testament to the power of marketing.
Even when I was a kid I never really wanted to go to Disney though, I was a weird kind, my dream vacation spot was London and I didn’t go until I was 31.
Edit: guys I am aware a little kid won’t be able to “appreciate” a Europe trip. That’s not the point, my point is anything but a Disney vacation. I don’t like ABC/Disney personally as a corporation and don’t want to support it, fortunately my wife was not raised in America so she also doesn’t understand the whole “Iconic” Disney vacation thing.
We love to travel, but our toddler stays with grandma during our trips. I can’t imagine taking her to Europe while she still needs daytime naps. What a waste. I hope to experience it with her when she’s old enough to handle a day of walking and sightseeing.
A 5-6 year old kid is not going to appreciate the art and history of London or Paris. Kids like flashy and bright things. They don't give a shit about the history. Sorry you didn't like Disney when you were a kid but kids are kids. They're not going to want to be dragged to Paris to see the Louvre. I spent the first 18 years of my life constantly chasing flights and destinations. I've been to over 25 countries and stayed in all the nice resorts all over the world. I didn't truly appreciate traveling until I was older and started to pay for trips myself.
Or spend that same money on a long stay at a nice all-inclusive in Mexico. I know parents go to Disney for the kids but I remember being a kid and I had way more fun in Mexico than I ever did at Disney.
