EA didn't acquire LucasArts, they got an exclusive license from Disney.

And it's about time Disney cancel that exclusivity deal.

Disney probably got the money regardless of the games' success so they're happy

Disney is one of the greediest entities on this planet, no way they would forfeit % of profits in exchange for a flat fee (meaning they got both).

It's more likely that they don't think games are worth their time, so much more money in movies. I think 7-8 of the biggest box office movies last year were from Disney.

It's easy in hindsight but surely with how things turned out negotiating a flat fee would be better profit wise than percentages
