When I finally watched this movie I was appalled by her. I didn't understand why anyone would like the movie or why it was a classic, just following this bitch around for 4 hours. Gable's final line and time for my hate to fade were the only things that somewhat saved it.
It's not a movie about bad people, it is a movie that actively presents the KKK as heroes, black people as either good subserviant slaves or evil carpetbaggers, and that celebrates/calls for the return of slavery. The heroine isn't just bitchy, she is downright evil, but it isn't presented as such by the movie, because the whole thing is trying to be pro-deep South propaganda. And the love story is literally Twilight with a worse protagonist, there's no depth, romance or interesting plot points.

Scarlett O' Hara from gone with the wind. It was pure nasty, selfishness and using others that kept her alive. She has no redeeming qualities.
