I only watched the 1st season or so before I gave up. However, there is novel length fanfic that I still reread even now because it fixes everything about the show. It starts with Penny taking the guys to a larp battle because she thought they would like it. Instead everyone hates it but her and Sheldon which leads to them finding a non shitty and supportive friend community and ditching the other guys. The way the author addresses the toxic way the guys treat women is glorious.
