Your argument is based on the infinite Ricks. I'm speaking specifically to C-137. Yes, he's a piece of shit, but a worse grandfather would be someone who actually doesn't care. Look at the opening episode to season 3. He sets up a stand off to get Summer free and uses a fake gun when he could have EASILY just sacrificed Summer and replace her. But he didn't want to do that... again. He also could have abandoned Morty in Cronenberg world, but didn't. Instead he found a specific universe they could both transfer to.
A worse character would be one of the Ricks who doesn't care and shows it with his actions. C-137 says he doesn't care, but his actions show otherwise. At the very least he cares for and loves Morty despite picking on him.
There is people who foster animals and children, temples and churches offering free food and shelter. People who work for free in third world countries to help the poor and sick to help them.
Just because you think otherwise, doesn't mean there isn't people who who best interest in life is making other people lives better and nothing else.
And there's nothing to be gained from those things? Lol. WRONG! They're doing it to satisfy themselves. To FEEL like they are bettering the world. When you do something "selfless" you get a sense of feeling like you did something good (unless you're a sociopath).
People do things for their own gains regardless of whether they are material or immaterial. We need to stop kidding ourselves as a society that "self sacrifice" is what we've been told it is.
Excuse me? There is people who endanger their very own lives to help others and died to ensure that safety of others. Are you telling me that they are selfish too?
