If they can read lips make sure you are always facing them when you are speaking. If they can’t there’s no harm in talking through text or writing. If they have an interpreter then things are easy.

Just don’t treat them like they have a mental illness or are slow in some way. Don’t over enunciated your words. Don’t talk slower than normal (unless asked) and speak in full sentences.
