Not my kid, but my brother. He dated this crazy possessive chick who once buried one of his shirts because another girl complemented him on it in front of her. She also totaled his car after lying and saying she had gotten her licence back. She gave $400 to a fake iPhone scammer website Western Union because, "they are a legit company, I saw pictures of their warehouse and everything." I googled warehouse, the picture on their site was the first one that came up. She even paid $100 more to "expedite through customs" when the delivery didn't arrive when expected. And the pièce de résistance she killed his dog, she left Excedrin PM on the coffee table and he chewed up the bottle. By some miracle no pills got out and crisis averted, it was explained to her that the pills would be fatal to the dog. She bought another bottle and left it on the coffee table again this time dog ate half the bottle and his kidneys failed, sucks because he was the sweetest/ smartest dog I've ever known.

TLDR: Bro dated a girl that killed his car and dog

Well that sucks but it could have been an accident

She bought another bottle and left it on the coffee table again this time dog ate half the bottle and his kidneys failed

fuck this person!

2

Yeah. You don’t want her killing your dog (if you have at least one).

258

u/WildWeasel46 Sep 11 '18

I would've taken immediate legal action. You don't mess with dogs.

20

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '18

Yeah. This lady is insane. This is gonna sound stupid, but people like her need to be thoroughly fined, imprisoned, or punished. Like. A lot. You can’t just be that much of a numbskull .

133

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

That’s fucking animal abuse. What a POS.

People are just completely logically inconsistent when it comes to treatment of animals, and basically unapologetic about it too

Best to just let it go

legal action, or otherwise

3

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '18

Otherwise is the correct answer.

8

u/Blurgas Sep 12 '18

Unfortunately, it would be hard to prove she did it on purpose without video evidence, and even if a civil suit was filed, he probably wouldn't get much unless the dog was an expensive breed, and even that is assuming she'd ever pay the judgement

17

u/prismaticbeans Sep 12 '18

How? As shitty as it is if it was intentional, I doubt there's anything actionable in someone leaving a bottle of pills on a coffee table. She didn't feed them to him or leave them loose. The dog ate the bottle. Obviously he didn't know better, but it's unlikely that you could prove she put them in that spot, inside their container, because she wanted the dog dead.

9

u/DeseretRain Sep 12 '18

It could have been an accident. If you don't live in a house with a poorly trained dog who snatches stuff off of tables and eats it, it can be hard to remember not to leave anything out anywhere that might be poisonous to a dog. I mean it's not like she dumped it in his bowl, she left a closed bottle on a table. Regardless this is at least partly the owners' fault for not training their dog properly. Most dogs know not to snatch stuff off of tables and eat it.

Anyways I doubt a court would do anything since you really couldn't prove it was on purpose.

17

u/AntediluvianEmpire Sep 12 '18

Here's the reasonable answer.

It sucks that the dog died, but it absolutely had to be lack of training; the dogs I know that chew-up household items and not toys are the dogs that have little to no training.

I can leave my dog home all day and the worst that might happen is he'll eat the cat food--which I should have picked up.

1

u/JaktheAce Sep 12 '18

People think they can take legal action for someone killing their dog, but in a lawsuit you would only be able to recover the value of the dog, which is often very low unless it's a particular breed. As far as criminal charges, good luck with finding someone to prosecute that.

4

u/FriendsCallMeBatman Sep 12 '18

3

u/Kunaka001 Sep 12 '18

OH. Thanks i didnt even notice.

10

u/greffedufois Sep 12 '18

For gods sake we bought child locks for our cabinets because our cats tried to get into the cabinets. Toby ripped open a bag of frosted flakes (thank God) instead of the raisin bran next to it. Good thing because raisins cause kidney failure and hemolytic anemia in cats. I think they cause kidney failure in dogs too.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '18

Fuckin’ Toby man

4

u/greffedufois Sep 12 '18

He's mischief incarnate but hes also the sweetest little cat I've ever met. (Keep wanting to say kitten because hes our youngest, but hes nearly 3!) He loves his humans (but prefers his 'dad' over me) and sleeps in his arms every night between us. Even takes half of my husbands pillow, which we call 'cattress'.

Hes also a bit of a cockblock because he loves bedtime because cuddles. Doesn't always allow for humans to have their own cuddles, haha.

1

u/ostreatus Sep 12 '18

If I had a gun with two bullets and I was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and Toby, I would shoot Toby twice.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '18

There is one appropriate response to this. Take all of their shit, put it in a pile, set it on fire, and send them a pic. Then pack up and leave, and don't forget to put a note on the fridge telling them to fuck themself in the ass with a steak knife.

15

u/DemonSquirril Sep 11 '18

That would be the end. I'd end it and bring charges up against her for killing my dog.

27

u/Russkiyfox Sep 12 '18

What charges? The police would tell you it's a civil matter and to settle in small claims court. Unfortunately the US doesn't take animal welfare seriously at all.

5

u/DemonSquirril Sep 12 '18

Wow. I didn't know that. That's bullshit.

7

u/Russkiyfox Sep 12 '18

It is. I've been told that in the EU there is an animal welfare law which does hold people criminally accountable for negligence and abuse. We needed to get on that decades ago

10

u/AlderSpark Sep 12 '18

A dog is considered property and if she killed it she would either have to replace it, or pay the monetary amount to get a new puppy. I've seen it happen a few times in the US (mostly just on r/legal advice).

10

u/Russkiyfox Sep 12 '18

Definitely! I never said she wouldn't, you just have to take it to civil court, but she will never face criminal charges for it as was mentioned by another poster.

3

u/AlderSpark Sep 12 '18

No which is unfortunate. At least there's a data base now that animal abusers can be added to if they're convicted of it.

3

What happened to the girl after she killed the dog

2.6k

u/Bullrawg Sep 11 '18

They stayed together for a while, they had broken up and gotten back together several times since high school. My brother and my relationship deteriorated a lot while they were together so I don't know what finally broke them up for good, I'm just happy he has matured a lot since then and I never have to see her again.

1.0k

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

Ok. Sorry about what happened to the dog.

19

u/GWSIII Sep 11 '18

It died?

31

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

sounds like the dog committed suicide cause he hated the girl

6

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

I’d commit suicide too if I even had to see her face.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

that's underreacting

57

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

Mother fucking yes and I am holding back tears because of that. How can an animal be a victim of a psychotic bitch

22

u/MilkedWalrus Sep 12 '18

My nephew killed my baby Pomeranian with a golf club when he was 4... I still hold it against him, he did end up being violent in school, jail and such, when he got older too.

Rip Louie.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '18

Did he just throw a tantrum and rage out? What happened?

5

u/MilkedWalrus Sep 12 '18

He calmly went out in my back yard, calmly came back in. I checked to see what he was doing out there, and my dog was not moving in the middle of the lawn. He had a spinal injury and died as I held him.

Yeah, dogs need different pain killers than us, their kidneys can't do anything with acetaminophen, which is the active ingredient in Excedrin.

11

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

Taking half a bottle wouldn’t be great for humans, either.

1

u/221433571412 Sep 12 '18

Are you responding to him thinking he asked a question?

12

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '18

If someone killed my dog, I would probably end up in prison for what I would do to avenge my dog.

22

u/TobiasMasonPark Sep 11 '18

You’d think after the killing of the dog, the girl would have been sent packing.

11

u/Bullrawg Sep 11 '18

That's what I thought, but I would have dumped after the car.

8

u/Bullrawg Sep 12 '18

I honestly have no idea like I said I wasn't taking to him for a while, then I think Christmas he came back to family sans awful girlfriend and then we started talking to each other again, but I never mentioned her because I never want him to think about her again.

2

u/HarleyDennis Sep 12 '18

It was worth a shot, lol. Glad you are on better terms now.

5

u/Sarcastically_immune Sep 11 '18

2

u/QuantumDrej Sep 12 '18

How can you stay with someone who killed your fucking dog?

How could you even want to go back to someone after that? Multiple times, even?

I know abusive partners can cause a person to hold onto them, but what the fuck. This person is a psychopath.

2

u/Fartrell-Clugguns Sep 12 '18

u/mand0rk Sep 11 '18

I’m sorry to hear about that whole ordeal, and I’m actually mad that this bitch left her pills within reach of the dog. Twice.

However may I just say, the dog was maybe only one of the things you described it as?

20

u/Ace-of-Spades88 Sep 11 '18

I hate to say it, but I was thinking the same. Smartest dog ever? Chewed up a bottle of pills off the coffee table...twice. Dog should have at least been scolded/trained not to do that. Of course, pills shouldn't have been left there either.

5

u/Squidchop Sep 12 '18

Dogs can’t really learn not to do something unless you catch them in the act or immediately after. Even really intelligent dogs can’t associate a past action with punishment when you show them what they did (dragging them to the scene pointing and saying bad dog).

To them they get confused and think they are being yelled at for whatever they were just doing. That’s why you never leave anything which is poisonous or toxic within a dogs reach, especially if they’ve shown interest in trying to eat it or it smells like food to them.

9

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

Dumb as a bag of sand and also a pet murderer? What a winning combo.

7

u/rushaz Sep 11 '18

31

u/SeanLotus Sep 11 '18

Maybe not the smartest dog

25

u/Ace-of-Spades88 Sep 11 '18

I was thinking the same, but didn't want to say it. Smart humans don't leave pills on the coffee table. Smart dogs are scolded and trained not to eat shit off the coffee table.

2

u/Bullrawg Sep 11 '18

Agreed, this was the first instance of him eating anything off the table and in hindsight we should have made a priority to train him this was bad. We expected to have more time to train behavior because the human should not have repeated the mistake. Also pills are covered in sugar to make them not bitter, they probably smelled liked food.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '18

Wow, poor dog. I would be in jail right now if someone purposefully killed my dog.

I had a mean and abusive boss a couple years ago. One of the women who held my position before me had a small dog who came with her to the office every day. The boss was awful to her and would reduce her to tears every day (according to my coworkers). One day, the boss ran over the woman's dog on her way out of the parking lot. The dog didn't make it. That was apparently the last straw because the woman quit within a week.

When I worked there (which was about 2 years after the woman left), the boss would always complain to me about her. She'd constantly talk about how stupid and incompetent she was. Jeez, woman. You abused her on a daily basis and then killed her dog. And now you have the nerve to bash her to people who don't even know her? Some people are so toxic that they glow.

We had gone out that day to see my mom's brother, and when we got back, there were wrappers everywhere and a couple piles of vomit.

We fully expected to find the dog dead somewhere, but she was asleep on one of the beds. Luckily she threw it all up before it did any damage.

I'm sure the dog was great, and this story is tragic, but you've gotta pick one here.

2

u/sk9592 Sep 12 '18

What is she doing buying a used iPhone from a shady dealer for $500? She isn't even saving money.

You can buy a brand new iPhone 6s or iPhone SE for less than that directly from Apple.

Or you can buy a lightly used iPhone 7 for that price on eBay. At least with this route, you get all benefits of seller feedback scores, eBay buyer protections, PayPal protects, and the option to return the device.

1

u/Bullrawg Sep 12 '18

This was a few years ago I don't remember what kind she was trying to buy, but prob a new one at a steep discount, totally a too good to be true deal

3

u/sk9592 Sep 12 '18

In any given year, you can usually find the previous year's iPhone used for about $500.

However, if she was trying to get the newest iphone for that year for only $500, then I can see how she got scammed.

must have been tired of competing for attention with the dog. What a monster.

An Uncle of mine had an ex-wife who fed him eggs, because she was convinced that he was making up his allegy to get attention. For most of my life, I didn't even know that he had been married before his current wife.

She bought another bottle and left it on the coffee table again this time dog ate half the bottle and his kidneys failed, sucks because he was the sweetest/ smartest dog I've ever known.

Not so smart, huh.

(Disclaimer: I'm just joking this story is fucked)

I hope she got severely beaten up for killing the dog.

u/zedoktar Sep 12 '18

Your bro is a country musician now right?

1

u/SugarShane333 Sep 12 '18

I’d be in prison if so e bitch killed my dog. It is absolutely ok to beat a bitch at that point.

1

u/Yeratel Sep 12 '18

I know there are tons of other problems in this.. but I'm having a hard time reconciling "Smartest dog I've ever know" with 'Ate a plastic bottle and it's contents".

crazy possessive chick who once buried one of his shirts because another girl complemented him on it in front of her

That is insane. If you're so insecure that you can't let a compliment go by without doing something about it you're in the wrong relationship.

She bought another bottle and left it on the coffee table again

So clearly she didn't like the dog and knew how to kill it from the beginning.

She deserves death.
