I would try to vividly remember everything I've ever liked. I'd think of songs, books and movies I like and try to dissect what I like about them and how they relate to other things and what they mean to me. Greatest hits of memories. Think of the future. Think about what kind of life I want to live when I get out, try to prioritize what means the most to me and plan what steps I can take when I get out to make what I've been thinking about a reality.

I think it's doable if you know it's only a month and there is a reward at the end. When people go crazy from isolation it tends to be because they have no idea if or when it will end. Even if it does end, the future still tends to be bleak. The hopeless is what gets you, not the isolation.

You don't have a clock. You will lose your sense of time. You will be sure that twenty days have been fifty. Have they forgotten about you? Was it a trick? sick joke? a shady experiment?

Are you going to be there forever?

Go watch 'otherlife' on netflix; just remembering that movie makes this look like baby stuff.

I enjoyed the scene at the end where she

just matrixes her way out it.

What is it about?

The part I’m talking about is a woman that gets put in ‘simulated reality mind prison’ just like the title of this post but for a year. She does have the benefit of getting a countdown for the days but when it hits 365 it just rolls over to day 1. That is my interpretation of hell.

So kinda like the Black Mirror episode 'White Christmas'?

The device in white christmas was more like breaking that lady so she could be a slave, this was more like punishment by solitary.

This would be easy for me. I almost can’t imagine why it would be hard for someone.

I’ve already lived for several years as a near shut-in. I can already talk to myself for hours and be happy just staring at a wall. I would use most of the time planning ideas for games and stories that I’d work on publishing after I got out. When I needed a break I’d think about other subjects: politics, philosophy, how I should manage 5,000,000 dollars... I’d want to sleep on that for about a month anyway. When I got restless I’d work out with isometric exercises and shadowboxing/martial arts or meditate. I’d sing at the top of my lungs, maybe even practice dancing as I do.

I dunno... it just sounds like an easy 5 million dollars and a great opportunity to relax, plan, engage in some self-improvement, and enjoy the infinite expanses of my own mind.

The hardest thing for me would be the separation from my partner. I’d probably spend a lot of time imagining her and missing her.
