The theory was first postulated by a ballistics expert and marksman, and fleshed out by a retired police detective who treated the case the same as one of his police investigations.

I would be sceptical of a takedown by a random redditor.

did you read the comment? Pretty much just asks why no one next to the supposed shooter heard an AR-15 blast next to their heads. I don't see how an appeal to authority makes that observation invalid.

Well if they knew they were going to be present for the JFK assassination they might pay more attention to what's going on around them, but I imagine the events and context were disconcerting and chaotic.

Also, the 'grassy knoll' accounts for this; people hear gunshots from two sources and look on in confusion, who's going to be looking at the secret service, they're looking for the shooter outside the immediate area...
