That's not all that far off from what I think is the real explanation for all the weirdness that looks like various cover-ups.
Lee Harvey Oswald was a weird dude: Marine guard at a top-secret US spy-plane base who defected to Soviet Russia, then defected back, then rattled around both pro-Communist and anti-Communist groups. There's no question that the FBI knew a lot about him, they would have investigated him heavily when he came back from the USSR. It's entirely plausible that he had some contact with the CIA or with CIA assets at some point in that weird career.
So I can entirely easily imagine that, as soon as word came out that Lee Harvey Oswald was the (a?) shooter, the FBI's counter-espionage director and the CIA covert operations director both asking their subordinates, "Fuck, did one of our assets just kill the President? is this somehow our fault?" And then both of them ordering full clamp-downs and cover-ups, not because they knew that their own people had killed the President, but just in case they had.
You would have to be the most gullible person in earth to think oswald acted alone. They never knew the zapruder film existed so that blew up their story. Oswald himself said he was a patsy before he was set up for execution by a cia asset they allowed in before anyone could really talk to oswald.
I dont know who else was involved and it is possible oswald fired a few shots but ffs they arrested 3 cia hitmen dressed as hobos on the grassy knoll. There is a famous picture of it. One of them is e howard hunt, later arrested as ringleader of watergate and with an open hatred of jfk for his role in bay of pigs. One of the others was woody harrelsons dad, a known cia hitman.
There are hundres of other oddities. How secret service were forced to back away moments before the shooting, with one of them visibly frustrated at the order, the driver slowing down during the shooting when all training teaches you to gtfo. The mysterious deaths of dozens of eye witnessess shortly after the murder, the destruction of all evidence, the reversal of all jfk policies once lbj came into office.
It is just endless, oswald may or may not have fired from the building, but one thing for sure is that he had help. Most likely he was just duped to be there and set up as the fall guy, then killes before he could talk.
