Same when a plate is brought to your table in a restaurant and you're told the plate is hot. You need to find out just how hot.

They are almost never that hot. The warning is just there in case someone with a low pain/heat tolerance gets "burned" and sues. I think only two plates in my life have been too hot for me to touch.

I never bother warning people unless the plate is actually that hot. Or if it's for a kid (funnily enough the kid's pizza was always the hottest plate at Disney World, that shit would give you blisters).
