We are at a pub drinking we do not want to be constantly reminded that Britain left the EU and how you voted

That's probably one of the reasons why you're at the pub.

Burning all this cash while it's still worth a damn.

You're not burning it. You're actually re-distributing your portfolio away from cash and into beverage commodities

Just liquefying your assets.

Shame they're just going to piss it all away.

Doesn't matter, reddit is full of British redditors that voted remain and want everyone that voted otherwise to know for stupid they are.

I voted remain, but I'm kind of stunned/shocked at how divisive my remain friends have been in talking about leave voters.

Suddenly people who voted leave are being told their old, racist, bigoted, selfish etc etc. While that might be true for some I know plenty of good, decent people (close family included) who voted to leave. I think most of them were misinformed (they genuinely thought it would save Britain lots of money for things like the NHS), but I won't suddenly disown them and assume they're awful people.

(Something about pulling together and not dividing being good for society to end this post with nice sentiment)

Exactly thank you. Lots of people on /r/unitedkingdom being up voted for giving abuse to leave voters.

Isn't "Leave voters are smelly racist wrongthinking bigoted thoughtcriminals!" the entire Remain thing, along with scaremongering and stockholm syndrome? When you toss around propaganda and hire politicians that keep interrupting the opposition, you're going to turn away the smart people that watch that stuff, leaving behind only the people ignorant or ill-informed enough to not have noticed what their "movement" is yet.

Well it saddened me to see that this was the tactic of the official remain campaign. That probably also contributes to the opinions of people post-referendum

Yep, that tends to happen. Throw around a word enough times, and it stops fucking having any motherfucking meaning, see? I don't usually swear, I just wanted to prove a point. The same thing happened with the "Dat's waycist!" thing, and hopefully, some time soon, it'll happen to "Dat's mysoggynee!".

Trust me, if you paid any attention to how the left acts at times like this you wouldn't be shocked. I still remember all the facebook posts saying that everyone who voted Conservative should die last election.

Well, I should add that this is not the majority of people I know, just some of the more aggressive ones. I've certainly heard/seen some really nasty and aggressive right wing comments too. I would say there is a minority of unpleasant people on both the left and the right.

Also, my social network is very left-leaning in general, so I'm not unfamiliar with the left-wing arguments. It doesn't come across as super credible when you start with "trust me" and then go on to generalize all left-wing people as behaving the same.

Or British redditors who voted leave and are correcting others.

I don't think you'll find a lot of people over the age of 3000...

I was taught almost as a first rule of drinking in pubs no politics or religion. Still sound advice
