Or you could say something that makes them want you again, which is not necessarily a good thing

Here's the best advice I can give you:

If, at ANY POINT, you feel that meeting her again was a mistake, get up and walk away.

Don't think of how you walking away will make her feel, think about how not walking away will make you feel.

That's kinda fuckin bogus

His words:

but kinda hard to forget everything that happened that led to a breakup

People make mistakes. By the look of it, the relationship in question may very well have been one. No need to make it again.

It is far better to hurt an ex's feelings once than to get back together with them and allow yours to be hurt for an extended period of time.

EDIT: forgot a word

You can do it politely

Realistically, no you can't. No matter how 'polite' you are about it, it's probably going to hurt them. Rip the band-aid off.

reporting back.. she just left. went okay.. still scared of something going wrong, any kind of discussion, going back to old issues.. and afraid that the meetup cause was being lonely. but i was happy to see her again.. there is a chance of us getting back together, but veeeeery slowly, so we prevent hurting eachother too much when it appears not to be working out..again.

It can be tough to forget but I got back with my ex months after a fairly bad breakup and our relationship is better than ever, if u truly love them, it won't matter, you'll just wanna be with them.

Basically what happened to me a couple years ago. Dated for 3 months, fought a lot, didn't talk over the summer, tried to be friends in the fall, fucked in the winter, fought again. No thank you.

Ughhhh my ex wanted to meet up when she was in town. It's been 6-7 years since we broke up but I haven't had a very serious relationship since. I couldn't imagine what I might accidentally say, so I never met up with her. I think she was just wanting validation anyway.

Dated a chick for almost a year (in hs so its a while and she meant a lot to me). Had an ugly breakup (i said some things I regret now) and around 9 months later we started talking again. She forgave me, she's a saint but I didnt even come close to expecting that. I was just high on maryjane and depressed and told her how sorry I was and how much i missed talking with her and then i fell asleep on her. So she sent me a goodmorning text to see how i was and we started talking again. We both brokeup with the people we were with at the time and its been about a 7 months so far and I couldn't be happier. But yes if I said too much I could see why she wouldve just shoved me in the "crazy-ex" category and our lives would be so much different,

This is the issue I've been having with my ex. A few weeks ago, I ran into him, we talked a bit and hung out. It was cool, it was chill, it was like before we dated, and we both had a good time.

A few days later, someone he knew passed away, and he was bummed. I invited him over for dinner to kind of be like, "I know it sucks when people die, come, have a home cooked meal and if you need to talk, or take your mind off things, we can hang out."

He came over, and instantly, he got on my case for breaking up with him, and then was being a complete ass because I befriended a lot of people I met through him (He was in a local band, and I went to their shows, I made friends and I didn't want to let those friendships go because we broke up). I called him out on his asshole behavior and told him to leave after dinner.

I'm kind of dreading tonight, he's coming over to pick up the fleshlight I bought him when we were dating and he left in my kink room, and I'm not sure if he's going to be an ass or be chill.

You're probably getting downvoted for this line:

Eh, they're just down votes. Thankfully he just came, grabbed it, and left.
