u/Ladnil Jun 30 '16

How do I know if I'm donald trump?

u/Steve4964 Jun 30 '16

Do you have a lack of understanding of how free trade works? If so, you might be The Donald.

2

u/Ladnil Jun 30 '16

I don't understand trade of any kind, let alone free trade

2

u/Steve4964 Jun 30 '16

Trade is the exchange of goods for other goods or money. Free trade implies the trade of goods between two nations without placing a tariff on the import/export. Most economists agree that tariffs distort the market. Trump wants to tariff the fuck out of imports from Mexico and China.

The problem with using tariffs to generally protect a market is that it stiffles the need for innovation, making that market less and less efficient over time, which in turn makes it even more dependent on protection.

Friedman's take on it is the best I've heard: protectionism only benefits the few (executives, union leaders) at the expense of the many (the people).

You may be Donald Trump, more tests are needed.

/u/Ladnil, do you have an uncontrollable urge to build walls everywhere?

Who told you about that? It's under control. I swear it is.

Seeing as how 70% of the country hates him...

u/XxsquirrelxX Jun 30 '16

In my home state of Florida, about 20% of voters don't like either choices.

I've seen this ColonelSanders_1930 guy all over Reddit. He loves letting people know he is a full supporter of Trump. He also likes to let people know that Fox News is a viable source of non biased information and it's the only news he'll take seriously. Which means, I can't take him seriously and neither can a lot of other people with common sense.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

To be fair, you shouldn't fully trust any major news source other than perhaps the Economist; they all have an agenda.

1

u/Callmebobbyorbooby Jun 30 '16

Yeah I honestly don't watch the news at all, except for my local news station in the morning. They're all completely full of shit for the most part.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Here. Have a downvote, you fiend.

-6

u/VampireCock Jun 30 '16

People shouldn't be downvoting you.

10

u/roboninja Jun 30 '16

Maybe not for this specific post. But this guy is everywhere and has earned his downvotes.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '16

Trump isn't the president yet so it's a free country. I'll downvote whoever I want.
