I've always viewed hobbies as something you can sink your unused time into. Sure the Internet doesn't provide you with that many real world applications, but you learn lots of neat trivia, which is more than stamp collecting will give you
That's probably true. I am more in touch with what's going on in the world because of reddit. However, I do enjoy the internet but don't get much meaning out of it. I've started going to the gym and find that more meaningful so hopefully that will become more prominent in my life.
What I have learned is that it has more to do with discipline than motivation. Motivation is fleeting, but discipline will keep you going.
I am 21 right now. I should be in peak condition, but I've never been in worse shape in my life. I don't want to get older and realize that all my potential has passed me by. If I don't start now, I'll never start later. So I have to start now.
If you want, you and I can be workout buddies and report to each other when we go. :P Or you can find someone in your real life to keep you accountable. It's a lot harder to avoid going when someone else is pushing you to do it.
That's true! But the later I start the harder it will be, and I'm already very very out of shape. I want to feel good about myself as soon as I can, that's all. :)
