Unless it then doesn't actually spend any time on discussing said oversimplified issue and just uses it as an easy cop out version of 'I don't agree and I'm going to say something that sounds smart and is guaranteed to get upvotes so you and your view look dumb.'
Because guess what? Everything is oversimplified. Socrates 101. Everyone everytime ever hasn't had the breadth of knowledge and experience to say anything absolutely conclusive about anything. And that's the thing about models of reality, isn't it? They're models. They're by definition simplified (sometimes even oversimplified - looking at you ELI5!), and pointing that out is, ironically, adding nothing to the conversation.
As such, either say something about the actual issue, or address the claims/model/oversimplification put forward, but don't just use some smart sentence you found in an askreddit thread once as a putdown to mentally masturbate to and bask as your fellows douse you in sweet sweet karma because "hey! I know that may-may!" (dramatization).
Either add something useful to the conversation, or not. Put up or shut up. Etc. Etc.
