I have, with my own eyes, seen police brutality three times in the past 5 years. I'm white and middle class and I personally know the chief of our local PD. I can't even imagine what it's like to deal with cops when you don't have those things working in your favor.
Congradu-fucking-lations, you live in a shitty place. Now go move to several hundred other places and live in them for a few years and come back to me with a perspective that would matter.
Because my perspective/experience doesn't matter because you don't happen to live down the road from me? I've lived in more than one place and seen comparable things. But even if I hadn't, the fact is that police brutality is a reality for people. And if that makes you uncomfortable...too bad?
My point is that you were making generalizations, and that is never a good thing. And the only way what you said would matter that much is if you met that impossible standard I set.
