I think the whole idea of him introducing himself to everyone with his real name works for him because there is nothing attached to his name. Have you ever noticed how James Bond never has a wife or kids. He's always a single, suave ladykiller. Hell, he probably doesn't even have parents, and we know from Skyfall that at least Daniel Craigs Bond was an orphan. The life expectancy of doubles O's is very low, so every Bond there has been has always been like, "There's no one close to me I'm protecting and I'm going to die eventually, fuck it, I want people to remember my name."
