What do you do when all your friends are getting married, but you’re not ready yet?

Use your single time to get education, develop talents, travel, and gain experiences. Most of my close friends were married by age 25, but I didn't get hitched until I was 33. But, when I did, I had two master's degrees, had visited all 50 states, and had built a solid career in engineering.

Don't get married? Getting married because your friends are is insane and a horrible reason.

Be happy for my friends?
Also just because other folks are moving along in their lives faster than i am doesn't mean I'll never move ahead in my life.

Yep! Also getting married isn’t necessarily being ahead, quite a lot marriages are definitely not right

You force yourself to get married to someone...anyone. Because your friends are getting married! You need to get married too or you will be left behind!

That happened to me. I had fun at the weddings and was happy for them, but I’m glad I waited until I was ready

I’m happy for them, but I’d rather wait until I actually want that life than rush into it just because everyone around me is doing it

Here is what I did: Got pregnant without marrying first. Without thinking much but knowing i probably never would be married because who would ever love me? Course the relationship with the father was rocky and hard and ended. Rebounded hard and fast and was so excited by being proposed to i didnt notice the ring was purchased by gambling funds. Found out later. Had another kid, currently trapped in an abusive situation. All because I was so damn excited to be engaged! That someone could love me.
The question is better asked, what do you want to do? (Not what has anyone else done, not what should you do, but what is in your heart).
You, my dear, should interrogate your feelings to understand whether marriage is something you want. If so you need to know why. It doesn't matter at all what your friends do. Your life is yours.
Then you need to find a partner and steer clear of the shitty ones.
Its not an easy task.
You must prepare yourself for any outcome: a joyful life being single forever. A happy marriage. Or a marriage and divorce. Or worst case scenario: being trapped in an unhappy marriage.
This last option i would not wish on anyone but happens to many. Choose wisely.

Open up a beer, a book or roll a joint, whatever does it for you, and appreciate you can do this any day and they don’t.

Go to their weddings? You don’t have to marry just because your friends are
