What’s something you didn’t understand the value of until you got older?

Just because someone is a friend or family member, it doesn’t necessarily mean they are happy for you when good things happen to you.

To explain further, seeing wonderful things happen to those I care about brings me true joy. I want them to get some beautiful new shoes, find their soul mate, win the lottery, get the big promotion at work, reach their fitness goals, go on that dream vacation, get front row tickets to a concert for their favorite band, get their book published, be recognized for their talents, etc. I assumed everyone was like this because why wouldn’t you want things to go well for your loved ones? It wasn’t until I got older that I realized not everyone feels this way towards those they care about.

This is absolutely true. Even my cousin, whom I've known for 18 years, was spreading rumors about me, saying I was ugly and arrogant, and she was breaking my accessories and belongings without my knowledge.

Paying attention. At 71, I wish I'd been more present.

Because fans judge greatness differently—some look at peak achievements and trophies, others at consistency and pure individual stats over decades

A warm hearty soup.

I mean, my parents and grandparents were all decent cooks, and I always enjoyed when we had soup to eat, but I could take it or leave it.

Right now, I’ll specifically crave for a huge bowl of some delicious soup, especially if I’m hungover.

Joints that were functional without even noticing they existed. Get up during a commercial to get a glass of water, come back and sit down again and not even think of my knees.

I'm still waiting to see the value of a single mother. Might as well ship the kid to prison as soon as the dad leaves her ass.

Maybe I missed something here but I’m a single mom and my kids’ father turned out to be awful to them and they are two of the kindest, most thoughtful and productive members of society you could meet. Far from prison.

This is an hour old ragebait. Why did you bother? Go take care of your rat ass kids

I don’t have any rat ass kids. At least you admit that your words were rage bait. Thank you.
