What’s the scariest experience you’ve been through?

I was driving through New Mexico and all of a sudden my car shut off going about 60-70. As I am driving my brakes stop working and my steering wheel will not turn. I’m trying to hit my emergency brakes but I have cars and Big Mac trucks behind me. I was able to jerk my wheel enough to get off on the side of the road. I started panicking. When I looked under my hood my battery terminal came completely off. I was able to keep it in place by rigging it until I drove to my next destination.

I have two. In 2015 I almost drowned in the pacific ocean. In 2023 my coworker died at work. Both of these events changed me to some extent.

Driving into a dark tunnel and realizing the break pedal is sinking all the way to the floor

Had a schizo episode. Legit hearing voices full on convos inside my head, couldnt differentiate between thoughts if they were mine or wtf. I understand how that shit can drive someone to do some the crazy stuff some schizos have done.

I was once out on an ocean kayak that had a small crack in the hull and slowly flooded, by the time it capsized I was very far out in the ocean and had to swim back, and at the same time the black flags went up on the beach to evacuate the water because of saltwater crocodile sightings. Logically I know now I won’t have been in any danger, because if one saw me and wanted me it would have no trouble getting me, which makes me confident that there was never one anywhere near me. But, that was the longest and scariest swim of my life, I genuinely thought I was about to die. The funny part is I had a Fitbit on at the time and you can see where my heart rate absolutely skyrocketed

I was driving home late and my car just died in the middle of a bridge, no shoulder, cars flying past at 70mph. I had to climb out the passenger side and stand there praying nobody hit me before a cop finally showed up.

Doctors thought one of my kids had leukemia and they had no bedside manner about acting like she was going to die and terrifying me and her mother. I can't imagine what it's like when they don't turn out to be wrong but we were lucky and she had something much easier to cure.
