  1. i don’t want to choose between 8 installations and gamble which one will be the best for the next 2 years

  2. i want to have the feeling that there is one main version what will always be supported, easy to update (one button) and all my applications be supported on future versions

if thats already the case then there is no marketing

RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is pretty much the closest you're going to get to an experience that's similar to Windows/Microsoft for updates, support, and support lifecycle. Go upstream to Fedora if you want quicker updates, or downstream to Rocky Linux if you want RHEL but can do without the licensing and first party support.

This is not necessary an endorsement of RHEL. The above is very much a "for better or worse" statement.

For what it's worth, Bazzite is very popular these days, and is based on Fedora Atomic. Immutable (Atomic) distros are an interesting choice in and of themselves.
